Success Stories
Bobbie Jo didn't know what to do with her life when she found herself going through a divorce after four years as a stay-at-home mom.
Raising three children and with no recent work history, she spent months looking for a job. With no luck, Bobbie Jo had to turn to welfare to support her family.
It was when the state Department of Social and Human Services referred her to Goodwill Industries' Community Jobs program that things started to turn around.
Goodwill Employment Services staff helped Bobbie Jo identify an interest in working in law enforcement and helped her obtain work experience, prepare a resume and practice interviewing, which she credits with "helping rebuild her confidence."
After a four month work-experience training as an office assistant for the state Department of Corrections, Bobbie Jo was hired full time. "I owe a lot to Goodwill for their help and support helping me get back on my own two feet."
Goodwill is proud of the accomplishments Bobbi Jo has achieved during her time in program.
